The 2016 sold-out Sports Marketing Summit brought together the most successful practitioners locally and internationally, offering a unique blend of insights. The one-day summit heard from a host of top figures from the sporting world at Sydney's Royal Randwick Racecourse.
ESPN International Digital Strategy Head Adam Deutsh explored how the sports giant expanded its international reach, while Iris Asia Regional ECD Grant Hunter held a session on dragging sports marketing into the 21st Century.
The man leading Optus’ EPL push Paul Rybicki joined a panel looking at the future of sports broadcasting alongside Nine Entertainment’s Amanda Laing. GroupM's Venessa Hunt looked at how mobile is changing sport and Seven West Media CEO Tim Worner joined Australia's Paralympic chief Lynne Anderson for a C-suite panel.
The day also explored e-sports, the rise of female leagues, when to keep or dump a sponsorship, how the Big Bash League became successful and a panel of athletes, including cricketer Ed Cowan and netballer Sharni Layton, discussing sponsorship.
